Saturday afternoon while sitting around a kitchen table in 2012, deciding of something to set for a late lunch. We are out for 5 hours looking for a nice video cam, to shoot my sons coming football game finals. My hubby was busy working on his new camera, with the manual on his left hand and the right tapping the touch screen.
What’s for lunch, echoed from the kids room. Without any words, hubby starts setting-up the kitchen counter with bowls of ingredients and cooking utensils. Followed with a tripod, lights and cameras, he asked me to get into position and gave a little instruction on how to do it. I said, “what”? He stood in front of his camera, adjusting the lights and focusing the subject, before he counts the ready set, I insisted not to shoot my face. I was really surprised on the idea of making a video while cooking, not that I am a camera concious or not so many experience doing some poses in front of a cam. If you ever passed by on my social media, profile images are my favorite theme and landscape.
It seemed relatively hard…..Newbie or green apple, inexperienced, shaking knees and harsh voices in front of camera. After editing several shots in every scene, it was a great success after watching the rendered video. He uploaded it right away in his YouTube account (Hapagkainan does not exist yet), and we have received hundreds of views in a month. We have decided to make another video, with a plan of putting it into a new account. He sat by his computer, searching and browsing. He was a creative person, with a knowledge in hand and digital imaging. By the way, he was the one who earned a degree in Hotel and Management and culinary. After translating words related in cooking from English to Tagalog, we picked one from the list of Tagalog words that we feels the best. Dampa, Kumedor, Kusina, Paminggalan, Berdeng Kubyertos and Hapagkainan are some of the selections. We come up to last word that he wrote, Hapagkainan and added Pinoy as the keyword. We started using pinoyhapagkainan blogspot the free blogging site from Google, with the help of my brother in law (SEO Cavite) we purchased a domain and moved to our new site.
